Kim Mulligan

Kim Mulligan is a nature-inspired artist originally from Point Pleasant, New Jersey, and now based in Jupiter, Florida. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art Education from Georgian Court University and spent 25 years as an elementary art educator before turning her focus fully to her own studio practice.

Nature has always been Kim’s greatest teacher. She is drawn to the changing light on a flower, the intricate patterns of tropical foliage, birds, wildlife, and the quiet beauty found in the landscape. Her move to South Florida introduced her to an entirely new world of color, light, and plant life that continues to influence her work.

Working primarily in realistic watercolor, Kim explores light, texture, color, and emotion with careful observation and detail. Many of her botanical paintings are inspired by plants from her own garden or those discovered during her travels. She approaches these subjects almost as portraits, seeking to capture not only their form, but also their individual presence and vitality.

Kim also creates mosaic art using repurposed ceramic tile and enjoys experimenting with mixed media. The contrast between the fluidity of watercolor and the tactile, constructed quality of mosaic gives her different ways to explore organic form while reflecting her interest in sustainability.

Kim has exhibited and sold her work and created commissioned artwork for collectors. She is currently a member of the North County Art Association, Martin County Artisans Guild, Artists of Palm Beach County, and the Florida Watercolor Society.
