Bezel Set & Sunset Ready: Cabochon Pendant Workshop
DESCRIPTION:
There's nothing like the satisfaction of setting your own stone! In this workshop, you'll learn
how to create a tight-fitting bezel setting to showcase a cabochon of your choice. Soldering,
forming, sawing, and finishing techniques will all be demonstrated as you transform your stone
into a wearable pendant on a leather cord. Bring your own cabochon between 0.5" and 1.5" —
all other materials, including the leather cord, are included in your tuition.
OBJECTIVES:
Students will be able to apply basic bezel-setting techniques, including forming, soldering,
sawing, and finishing, to create a custom cabochon pendant. Everyone will work with sterling
silver and can expect to learn how to fit and secure a bezel around an irregularly shaped stone,
along with sanding, filing, and polishing methods to complete a finished piece.
